Animal Feed

feed-pelletsSome states require proof that noxious weeds are not being disseminated in animal feed. This service is of value for producers and users of feed, pellets and certified hay.

Tests that may be ordered include:

  • Noxious
  • Viabiility (germination and TZ)
  • Foreign Materials

Examples of recent tests:

  • Samples of horse feed pellets were submitted for noxious weed examinations.  Pellets were broken apart and seeds identified and evaluated for viability.
  • Feed pellets were submitted to determine if existing pelleting procedures were successfully killing existing seeds. The pellets are searched for seeds and tested for viability.
Testing fees are based on hourly charges.
