We wanted to update you concerning the activities at the OSU Seed Lab.

The University reopened Thursday, 17 September.  We had been working through germination and purity tests in an attempt to minimize the impact of the closure.  That work was very successful.  The counting of germination tests are estimated to be normal by today.  Planting will be 1-2 days behind, which is our normal operating range.  Purity tests will be caught up to our normal turnaround by today, when we will be 7-8 days behind.

Regarding Rush service and Special Instruction services, we will begin to resume those activities sometime today.  Our plan is to perform all Rush samples already in-house today (about 22 samples).  We will resume our normal processes Wednesday.  Special Instruction requests will begin to be considered by the end of business today.

Regarding sample numbers, we have received the same number of samples as other years at this same time.  We are currently on target to reach 1500 samples this month which will put us essentially at the number of samples we had projected at the beginning of the year.

We are grateful for your understanding and cooperation as we worked through these troubled times. We appreciate your business and will serve you to the best of our abilities so that results are delivered to you as soon as possible.  As always, if you have questions or concerns, please call us at the OSU Seed Lab.

Respectfully,

David Stimpson

Seed Lab Manager
