Request Additional Tests To File Samples as Needed

Does the Lab retain samples on file after testing? Yes for about two years!

Customers may request that excess seed be returned after testing (charges may apply), but the Lab must retain some seed to comply with federal regulations. In most cases, the file samples can be used for additional tests at customer request such as re-germination and conversion tests!

To request added tests to your file samples

  • Login to the OSU Seed Services website, then go to C: Request Additional Tests for Submitted Samples. For detailed instructions, click here. 
  • If you are requesting conversion to ISTA for a Blue Certificate you will also need to complete the ISTA Seed Sample Certificate: login here (once logged in go to B: Create Online ISTA Seed Sample Certificate) For detailed instructions, click here. 

To request added tests to your certified samples not yet at the Lab

  • Login to the OSU Seed Services website, then go to B: Obtain Transaction Number For Submitted Sample Certifcates. For detailed instructions, click here.

How do I know if the Lab received my added test request

  • Login to the OSU Seed Services website, then go to B: Query and Download Sample, Purity, and Viability Information. For detailed instructions, click HERE. This guide will explain how to use the OSU Seed Services website to view specific details about a submitted sample (including any tests requested) and view preliminary results of certain completed and in-progress tests. This can be a helpful way to check to make sure the Lab has processed your added test request.
